Qualifications:

  1. Veteran Status: This apprenticeship program is exclusively for veterans of any U.S. service branch, honoring their commitment and leadership skills gained during military service.
  2. High School Diploma or Equivalent: Applicants should possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  3. Strong Work Ethic: Veterans are known for their discipline, punctuality, and dedication, qualities highly valued in the HVAC industry.
  4. Mechanical Aptitude: A keen interest in mechanics and a desire to work with your hands is essential.
  5. Physical Fitness: The HVAC field can be physically demanding, so a reasonable level of physical fitness is important.
  6. Valid Driver's License: A driver's license is often required for apprenticeships since traveling to various job sites in your personal (rarely) or company vehicle may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Paid On-the-Job Training: As an apprentice, you will receive hands-on, real-world, real-time HVAC training under the guidance of experienced professionals. This will include tasks such as installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems, ductwork, and controls.
  2. Classroom Education: You'll participate in structured classroom sessions, where you will learn the fundamental principles of HVAC, including numerous heating and cooling systems and their design, as well as electrical components, refrigeration systems, and safety protocols. These classes will be tailored to veterans, recognizing your unique skills and experiences.
  3. Safety Focus: Safety is paramount in the HVAC industry. You'll be trained to follow safety procedures, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and identify potential hazards to ensure a secure work environment.
  4. Customer Service: Learn how to communicate effectively with customers, addressing their concerns, and providing exceptional service. This HVAC apprenticeship emphasizes the importance of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
